Mission Statement

Our goal at Copa De Arbol is to provide our guests with unparalleled customer service while offering a unique, authentic, and fully immersed experience in one of the last remaining areas of pristine coastal, tropical rainforest on this planet. From our humble beginnings as a 4-room rainforest hideaway, to our newly constructed resort, we have lived on this property for 20 years, building a strong knowledge and understanding of the area and the challenges it faces, and we are fully committed to a holistic approach in the way we interact with our staff, the community and the environment.

We are committed to the conservation and preservation of the Osa Peninsula, its surrounding waters, and the local communities, and are contributing members of various conservation organizations, both marine and terrestrial. A portion of our profits will be donated to conservation programs, and towards providing an on-site research base for marine biologists and other researchers in areas of study specific to this region. In our quest to provide a new model of interactivity, not only will this afford our guests the opportunity to donate and participate in programs of their choice, the research base will also serve as a teaching lab, fostering educational opportunities for the local population with an eye towards preserving the biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula.

Copa De Arbol is also in the process of applying to, and participating in the Certification for Sustainable Tourism Program, a project of the Costa Rican Tourism Board, which certifies tourism businesses based on the degree to which they comply with a sustainable model of natural, cultural and social resource management.

Our holistic approach extends to our family of staff, many of whom helped us build the new resort, and with whom we have worked for many years. In addition to providing jobs with opportunity for growth and education, and a profit-sharing program, we wish to nurture  and provide an outlet for their outside interests and activities. Where possible and appropriate, we will include these activities as enhancements for our guests, providing rewarding and satisfying opportunities and experiences for all. And finally, we hope to leave our guests with memorable experiences and enthusiasm for the natural wonder of the Osa Peninsula and planet earth
